I was standing in a nice garden full of flowers and trees. There is no four different seasons in this humid and hot climate place. But I watched many ‘autumn leaves’ flying gracefully from one flower to another. These are the ‘autumn leaves’ butterflies (Doleschallia polibete) that first captivated me at the end of wet and rainy season last April.
The sweetness of sawo fruits (Achras zapota) was their favorite but the jasmine and Euphorbia flowers were also appealing to them, which reminded me of someone who planted and handled this garden with his loving heart and gentle touch.
The ‘autumn leaves’ was just looked like a dry leaf falling from the tree but when the wings are opened, the golden and brown color enriched this green tropical garden. I know that the ‘autumn leaves’ will keep coming back to this garden because the loving heart and the gentle touch of someone has been preserved in this garden, giving them plants to forage and let the nature works……..
“The Autumn Leaves” (Nat King Cole)
The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I’ll hear old winters song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall
